Anthony M. Lise, Principal

Since its inception, Lise Law & Mediation PLLC has sought to disrupt the traditional law firm model through a solutions-based versus conflict-based approach. My approach is client-forward — I am actively involved with my clients from the beginning to the end of their matters and work to eliminate uncertainty and allay concerns in what are often difficult situations.

I have practiced in the areas of residential real estate, family law, and LGBTQ+ law since the beginning of my career, starting at Weiss, Buell & Bell, which, beginning in the 1980s, had been representing and advocating for the LGBTQ+ community long before it was common, or even safe, to do so.  Prior to starting my own practice, I founded and lead the Family Law Practice Group at Chaves Perlowitz Luftig LLP, a well-established residential real estate firm, where I was also actively involved in its residential real estate practice.

I served as Vice-President of the Foundation Board of the LGBT Bar of NY and am founded its Family & Matrimonial Law Committee. I am also an active member of the Family Law Institute of The National LGBT Bar Association, Family & Divorce Mediation Counsel, National LGBT Chamber of Commerce, New York, and New York State Bar Association, .

In 2017, I made the move from Brooklyn to the Hudson Valley where I live with my husband, Kevin, and our beloved dogs, Bea and Arthur.  In my free time, I enjoy hiking, reading, listening to music, craft cocktails, and design.

I have a B.A. in Political Science from Vassar College and earned my J.D. from City University of New York School of Law whose motto — law in the service of human needs — has always resonated.
